Job summary

Saputo UK is seeking a frontline engineer to cover mechanical and electrical maintenance across the cheese and whey production areas. You will maintain installed assets, deliver preventative schedules and react to maintenance requests, working closely with the team leader and production staff.

You will be hands-on, multi-skilled, comfortable with plant instrumentation and PLCs, and able to work 3-on/3-off days and nights in a fast-paced FMCG environment with opportunities for progression within

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC/HND qualification is required.
• Demonstrates multi-skilled engineering capabilities.
• Hands-on approach to engineering, indoors and outdoors.
• Experience in a production environment (FMCG preferred).
• Team player, supports workload and development when needed.
• Comfortable working with different computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventative maintenance schedules and respond to reactive maintenance.
• Work with machinery and instrumentation, including pumps, motors, valves, etc.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and production staff to plan and execute work.
• Record and track work via the maintenance system.
• Support other areas and gain broader experience of site operations.
• Prioritise workload with awareness of production timescales.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.

This role sits within a state-of-the-art site where you will be working as a front‑line engineer covering both mechanical and electrical requirements to maintain and support installed assets across the cheese and whey production areas, working closely with the team leader.

Qualifications

• A time‑served apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC/HND qualification

• Demonstrates knowledge and/or experience in a production environment (FMCG preferred)
• Works well in a team, supporting others with their workload and development when required
