The Position

Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at SARVAL Nottingham. This is a full-time, permanent role working 4 on 4 off, 12-hour day shifts, in a 24/7 operation. The role includes on-call support, covering shifts for holidays and sickness, with potential overtime.

The responsibilities of the Shift Electrician include:

• Adhering to Health & Safety guidelines
• Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader
• Coordinating with the Shift Team Leader to ensure smooth factory operations
• Understanding all factory processes, including steam raising, odour control, and effluent treatment
• Monitoring electrical equipment for optimal performance
• Performing breakdown repairs promptly
• Assisting other shift team members as needed
• Carrying out electrical installations and upgrades as designated
• Performing routine electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Being on call as required

The Person

• Completed a recognized City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment
• Experience with electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve process issues
• Knowledge of factory maintenance practices
• Familiarity with PLC logic and inverter drives
• Basic mechanical skills
• Experience with plant operations
• Ability to work independently and proactively
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, with excellent communication skills
