Job summary

Villeroy & Boch Group, via its Ideal Standard brand, is hiring a multi-skilled shift engineer to maintain a 24hr manufacturing plant. The role includes breakdown repairs, HSE improvements and delivering projects to improve performance.

The position runs on a days/evenings/nights shift, working solo with shift technicians to keep the plant running and all PPMs on track. Essential electrical and mechanical qualifications are required, with PLC knowledge being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications are essential and must be evidenced.
• Mechanical qualifications or relevant proven experience in pipefitting, welding and tooling.
• PLC knowledge is advantageous and beneficial for the role.
• Evidence of 17th or above electrical legislation is required for electrical engineers.
• Knowledge of production processes to ensure HS&E and quality conformance.
• Proficiency with engineering software tools and TPM platforms.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and deliver corrective actions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
• Ability to apply ethical reasoning in decision-making and deliver high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health & safety / environmental requirements per standards and permit procedures.
• Respond to breakdowns and repair plant/equipment within required timescales.
• Provide status updates on breakdowns and projects to the engineering team leader.
• Coordinate with technicians and contract engineers for timely repairs.
• Ensure interventions meet standards and best practice.
• Investigate problems or production development initiatives solo or in a project team.
• Contribute to plant engineering projects and design considerations.
• Identify areas to reduce maintenance spend and downtime.
• Update and control engineering documentation and spares management.
• Carry out fire team & fire panel maintenance.
