Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Shift Electrical Engineer to deliver maintenance services across the healthcare estate in Coventry. The role focuses on diagnosing faults, repairing electrical/plumbing systems, and ensuring high workmanship standards throughout complex installations.

You will monitor tasks via CAFM, observe health and safety regulations, and work within a structured team to respond to planned and reactive maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing faults across engineering, electrical and/or plumbing systems.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical engineering or equivariant.
• Completion of a structured training programme in Electrical Engineering for a minimum of 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and make judgements across a wide range of issues, understanding the complexity of pre‑planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, unplanned events and emergencies while working in a controlled manner.
• Diagnose and repair faults in engineering, electrical and/or plumbing installations, plant and equipment, adapting to new situations as they arise and sharing knowledge with others.
• Delivering high standards of workmanship across complex systems and understanding the relationship between mechanical and electrical systems.
• Actively monitor the CAFM system to ensure all tasks are assigned within appropriate timescales and issues are resolved proactively.
• Observe statutory requirements including health and safety, Electricity at Work Regulations, asbestos, legionella and COSHH regulations.
