Duties

We have an opportunity for a Shift Desk Controller (Maternity Cover) in Cadishead, Manchester.

Rotating shifts:
6am-2:30pm and 9:30am-6pm Mon-Fri

This role will coordinate all materials inbound and outbound from gate entrance through to exit, including weighbridge duties, driver inductions and all inbound and outbound safety documents. Ensuring safe procedures are followed from the front line.

You will be a pivotal link between all departments to help with the safe and efficient operational success of the site.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • SAP user – processing all inbound and outbound transactions
  • Raising the site’s indirect/direct purchase orders
  • Producing picklists and delivery notes, and keying production through SAP
  • Emergency Roll Callers – Support Incident Controller in completion of roll call and assisting with activation of incident Site Emergency Plan
  • Completion of Dangerous Goods Notes for hazardous despatches
  • Operating Main Gate & access control via intercom
  • Communicating and assisting Production Operative team via 2-Way Radio
  • Operation of the onsite weighbridge via remote system and 2-way radio
  • HMRC Document processing for dutiable product movements
  • Assist Shift Manager with Driver Inductions
  • Weekly audits of loading and discharge documentation
  • Supporting Company EHSQ Policies on site

We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter and a team player. The role is a key position within a successful and supportive team. You must have exceptional organizational skills and be numerically accurate and competent, with strong IT skills - mainly Microsoft Office. SAP knowledge is desirable.
