A leading gas distribution company is seeking a Shift Control Manager to oversee real-time operations and manage a team in Coventry. As our Shift Control Manager in the Energy Control Centre (ECC), you’ll be at the heart of real-time operations, ensuring the safety, integrity and performance of Cadent’s gas distribution networks. This isn’t just about managing systems – it’s about leading people, making critical decisions, and shaping how we respond to the energy needs of 11 million customers.
You’ll manage a team of 4–8 colleagues on a rotational shift pattern (mornings and afternoons, 7 days a week – no night shifts), ensuring operational excellence and readiness to respond to any unplanned events. With a 20.8% shift allowance and standby responsibilities, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.
From emergency response to commercial balancing, you’ll oversee a wide range of activities that keep our networks running safely and efficiently. You’ll also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and support the ECC’s strategic ambitions.
