Shift Coach Builder

Stagecoach is looking for a friendly, experienced, reliable coach builder to join our engineering team in Northampton.

When you join Stagecoach, you’ll be part of one of Britain’s leading public transport businesses, helping connect communities for over 40 years. We have a team of 24,000 people and over 8,300 buses, coaches and trams making us part of the fabric of daily life in England Scotland and Wales.

What the job involves:

You’ll probably already know the type of work you’ll be doing coming from an engineering background.

  • The focus is on maintaining and repairing our fleet
  • Carrying out inspections
  • Re-paint prep
  • RTC repairs
  • Undertaking roadside repairs
  • You’ll need to be comfortable working under your own initiative, but still enjoy being part of a team supporting each other.

There are several shift patterns worked: early, day and late. These are on a 5 over 7 rotating pattern.

Don’t worry if you aren’t trained in the most up to date equipment, we can provide you with all the necessary training to support you in your day-to-day tasks.

Ideally, you’ll be a qualified PCV coach builder. However, car, HGV and similar backgrounds will also be considered.

What you get:

Pay is important, we have several rates depending on experience so there is always the opportunity to progress. For this job role we are offering the qualifying candidate an hourly rate of £19.43.
