Salary: £41,477.37 - £47,052.70 per year

Job Summary

Location – Hilton Depot, Bishopbriggs

Shift 1: Monday – Thursday 6.15am – 2.40pm and 6.15am – 2.05pm Friday with a half hour unpaid lunch break daily.

Shift 2: Monday – Thursday 09.45am – 6.40pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break daily and 6.15am – 11.35am on a Friday.

Applications are sought for a Workshop Co-ordinator to lead a team of mechanics and manage the Fleets workshop, based at our fleet workshops at the Hilton Depot in Bishopbriggs.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operations, organisation and administration of the Fleets Workshops.
  • Providing leadership, vision and direction in the effective management of all aspects of the Council’s Fleet Workshop function.
  • Co-ordinating and developing the Fleet Workshop team to provide excellent customer service, meeting all Service Level Agreements and performance targets.
  • Continually improving service delivery and the performance of the Fleet Workshop team, minimising operational risk through effective management of operational control systems, competent resources and operational planning.
PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria apply to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential:

Where the post is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment.

Successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check, which will be deducted from their first salary payment. In specific circumstances, the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment, with approval from the HR & OD Manager. Should an employee leave before the payment is deducted, the full amount will be deducted from their final salary.

The criteria outlined above will also apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles requiring a PVG/Disclosure check.
