Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a SHES Advisor to support infrastructure projects in Scotland, based out of the Glasgow office. You will help maintain the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality systems, conduct site inductions, and drive incident investigations and audits.

The ideal candidate has a Higher Diploma in Health & Safety with at least 3 years’ civils/renewables experience, strong communication, and IT skills. The role offers a defined career path with benefits and a focus on safety culture.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a SHES Advisor:

• Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
• Carrying out inductions
• Producing monthly statistics
• Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme)
• Carry out and document site audits and inspections.
• Keeping up to date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
• Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records.
• Investigating, logging, and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances
• Completing all necessary report forms
• Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls
• Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available.
• Prepare and present toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
