Job description

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a business experienced across decommissioning, waste management, and more recently engineering design, R&D, and refurbishment, site installation, and high-hazard decommissioning work packages to recruit a SHEQ Project Services Manager for its Aldermaston site.


The function leading SHEQ Project Services Manager comes with a salary up to £60,000, an annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the SHEQ Director you will:

  1. Lead and develop a team to provide expert knowledge across all projects in the UK.
  2. Manage and support technical development strategies/documentation for various construction, decommissioning, and waste management projects.
  3. Input on project compliance within contracts.
  4. Mentor and coach colleagues on compliance needs.
  5. Ensure inspections and internal audits are planned, actioned, and reported to senior leadership teams.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 or APMP
  2. NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate
  3. SMSTS or CSCS card.

Personal skills

The SHEQ Project Services Manager role would suit someone who is:

  1. A detail orientated manager
  2. Experienced working within the construction sector in a highly regulated market (nuclear, defence, pharmaceutical, chemical manufacturing, or energy sectors)
  3. Knowledgeable on CDM regulations

Salary and benefits of the SHEQ Project Services Manager role

A salary between £50,000 and £60,000 depending on experience.
