Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced SHEQ Officer to support demolition enabling works and specialist contracting projects across multiple sites in the United Kingdom. This hands-on, site-based role involves promoting a safety culture, ensuring legal compliance and driving health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

You will conduct site inspections, review RAMS, investigate incidents and deliver inductions, while supporting ISO management systems and contractor performance.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent required.
• SMSTS certification required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out SHEQ site inspections and audits.
• Provide practical HSEQ advice to site teams.
• Review RAMS, COSHH assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and workforce briefings.
• Review subcontractor RAMS and monitor contractor performance.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Produce inspection reports and promote continuous improvement across projects.

SHEQ Officer

We're looking for an experienced SHEQ Officer to with demolition experience to support, demolition enabling works and specialist contracting projects across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and operatives to promote a positive safety culture, ensure legal compliance and drive high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out SHEQ site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
• Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to site teams.
• Review RAMS, COSHH assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and workforce briefings.
• Review subcontractor RAMS and monitor contractor performance.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

You’ll Have

• Experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety role within construction, civil engineering, demolition or enabling works.
• Strong practical site experience and knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Experience carrying out audits, inspections, incident investigations and RAMS reviews.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Essential Qualifications
