Job Description

A leading provider of infrastructure solutions, including HV power line diversions and substation constructions, is looking for a proactive, hands-on, and dynamic Health & Safety Manager (South UK) who thrives on creating safer workplaces, engaging with teams, and influencing positive change.

An expert within your field, you will be providing advice, training, and support across all departments. Experienced within the power sector, you'll lead the SHEQ team responsible for Power & Telecomms Projects across the south of the UK. You will drive compliance with company policies, procedures, and integrated management systems, attend client contract meetings, and deliver presentations as needed.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include more than just ensuring policies are adhered to. Investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative measures will be key aspects of your role, along with compiling and submitting reports to the Board of Directors in a timely manner. Additionally, you will support the development and execution of HSE programs.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the power sector
  • NEBOSH Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people
  • Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to promote a positive Health and Safety culture
  • Experience working in live substations is desirable, as well as previous exposure to DNO and IDNO environments
  • A full UK driving license is essential
