Job summary

Irwin & Colton is seeking a proactive SHEQ Manager in Guildford to oversee company-wide HSQE compliance, develop integrated management systems, and foster a strong safety ethos through training and audits.

The role covers policy development, site inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions, with a focus on ISO 45001/14001/9001 compliance and staff engagement. Circa 65,000 salary plus car allowance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing HSQE across multi-site civil engineering or similar environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
• NEBOSH diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.

Responsibilities

We are working with a well-established Civil Engineering company who are seeking a dynamic SHEQ Manager to oversee company-wide adherence to legislation, support the development of integrated management systems, and promote a strong safety ethos through training, audits, and stakeholder engagement.

The key responsibilities include:

• Developing, updating, and implementing HSQE policies, procedures, and manuals across the organisation.
• Conducting site visits, safety inspections, and compliance audits to identify and address hazards.
• Supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
• Promoting safety awareness through training programmes and internal communication initiatives.

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in managing HSQE in a multi-site civil engineering or similar environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
• A relevant health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
