Job summary

Equans is seeking a SHEQ Manager to strengthen safety, health, environment, and quality across DES projects in the UK. You will oversee SHEQ management, collaborate with senior teams, and ensure accurate reporting of near misses, accidents and incidents.

You will develop action plans for contracts, drive improvements from audits, and mentor Safety Ambassadors to embed a strong safety culture. With experience in construction or renewables, you will enable remote collaboration, stay current with

Qualifications

  • NVQ 5/Diploma in Health and Safety management or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a SHEQ team.
  • Experience in construction, renewables, or project management sectors.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation.
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee SHEQ management across designated business unit areas, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with head of SHEQ, other SHEQ Managers and Central SHEQ to maintain robust systems.
  • Record all reportable data (Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs, HiPos, LTIs, Incidents, LSV/MSV) and coach when needed.
  • Develop and implement SHEQ Action Plans for each contract to foster safer workplaces.
  • Utilize findings from SHEQ Audits to improve safety and quality, guiding process enhancements.
  • Mentor Safety Ambassadors and Responsible Business Champions to promote Equans values.
  • Facilitate training initiatives and lead investigations with comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Support internal functions to ensure systems and resources to manage risks.
  • Foster strategic relationships with regulatory bodies and industry forums.
