Job description

Our client is a major utilities contractor delivering a large portfolio of HV and EHV schemes in the varied and growing energy market. Milford RES has been asked to source an experienced health and safety director / senior SHEQ operations manager to oversee the business development and implementation of health and safety strategy. The successful applicant will have remit but ideally will be based in Midlands.

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Demonstrable experience acting in a senior SHEQ capacity, at director or operations manager level.
  2. Experience working for a major electrical engineering contractor or client.
  3. Time-served / experienced SHEQ advisor or manager background.
  4. Proven track record of developing and implementing company health and safety strategies and initiatives.
  5. Extensive relevant health and safety qualifications.
  6. Experience in the power / energy sector, including substation, grid, DNO, IDNO, and ICP projects.
  7. Rail electrification and M&E experience are also acceptable; applicants must have some electrical industry experience.
  8. Autonomous, professional, and comfortable dealing with senior industry stakeholders.
  9. Based in the UK and fully eligible to work in the UK.
  10. Hold a full driving license and be willing to travel as required (expenses paid).
