Are you ready to play a key role in shaping Metroline’s safety, environmental, and quality culture?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SHEQ Business Partner to join Metroline’s SHEQ Team.

This is a strategic and operational role, working closely with garage teams, project stakeholders, and senior leadership to drive continuous improvement across health, safety, environment and quality performance. You will act as the competent advisor for all SHEQ matters across Metroline sites, supporting legal compliance, cultural development, and proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide competent advice and assurance on all SHEQ matters across the business
  • Work collaboratively with operational leaders to embed a strong SHEQ culture
  • Deliver safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across garages and project sites
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SHEQ systems and ISO accreditations (45001, 14001, 9001)
  • Lead SHEQ-related training, coaching, and internal communications
  • Support environmental compliance and sustainability partnerships
  • Oversee and influence contractor safety, CDM responsibilities and compliance
  • Deliver SHEQ data reports and dashboards to internal and external stakeholders including TfL, TfGM, and ComfortDelGro
  • Act as liaison with external enforcement bodies (HSE, EA, LFB) when needed
  • Support incident investigation, lessons learned, and business continuity planning
  • Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards)
  • Experience managing SHEQ in a substantial and complex organisation
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure safety legislation (fire, asbestos, legionella, CDM)
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement and safety culture transformation
  • Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to manage risks and lead change
  • Recognised fire safety or environmental qualification
  • Experience with ISO 45001, 14001, 9001 implementation and auditing
  • Familiarity with transport or operational risk environments
  • Experience with SHEQ data analysis and performance reporting

Hours of work

38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
