Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a SHEQ Advisor based in Ilkeston with significant UK travel. You will guide safety, health, environmental and quality practices, ensuring compliance with laws and our systems. Reporting to the Divisional SHEQ Director, you’ll audit, coach and improve processes across sites.

You’ll work with operations, managers and customers to promote a positive SHEQ culture, deliver audits, investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement within a growing infrastructure business.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum requirement).
• IOSH membership at an appropriate level.
• Experience in a SHEQ Advisor or similar role within utilities, infrastructure, construction or a related sector.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ management systems, compliance requirements and industry legislation.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to review and support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support SHEQ across the group, divisions, depots and sites within remit.
• Act as ambassador for SHEQ and promote innovative problem-solving with customers and operations.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls.
• Collaborate with internal customers, divisions and clients to plan, review and achieve SHEQ targets.
• Support Occupational Health and Safety Plans and monitor performance.
• Conduct site visits and provide audit/inspection feedback and corrective action guidance.
