We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on, and dynamic Health & Safety Advisors who thrive on creating safer workplaces, engaging with teams and influencing positive change. An expert within your field, you will be providing advice, training and support across all departments.

Experienced with the power sector, you will join our team in Borehamwood or Iver, covering Power Projects across West London and the M4 corridor. You will drive compliance with company policies, procedures and integrated management systems, while attending client contract meetings and delivering presentations as needed.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be more than just ensuring policies are adhered to. Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures will be a key aspect of your role, along with compiling and submitting reports to senior SHEQ management in a timely manner. You will also be undertaking tasks such as:

  • Conducting training, toolbox talks and inductions
  • Creating and reviewing the production of risk assessments and method statements and answering any health and safety related queries
  • Undertaking audits and inspections of the sites, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings

In addition, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of HSE programs, working closely with the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager and the Head of SHE Major Projects.

To support your expression of interest, you will have demonstrable knowledge/experience as follows:

  • Proven experience in a similar role ideally within the power sector
  • NEBOSH Certificate and ideally relevant membership of IOSH
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people
  • Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to promote a positive Health and Safety culture
  • Experience working in live substations is desirable, as well as previous exposure to DNO and IDNO environments.
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
