Job summary

United Infrastructure seeks a dedicated SHEQ Advisor to strengthen safety, health, environment, and quality across field operations in the UK. The role focuses on promoting a Zero Harm culture, ensuring policy compliance, and delivering regular audits and reports on incidents and KPIs.

Candidates should hold a NEBOSH certificate, have housing or maintenance project exposure, and possess strong communication skills. A full UK driving licence and DBS clearance are required for site-based work.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum).
• Experience within social housing, maintenance, or minor works projects.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation and best practices.
• Experience with audits, reporting, and compliance systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office essential; SHEQ systems desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Standard DBS.
• Desirable TechIOSH membership.
• CSCS card.
• First Aid / Fire Marshal training.
• Asbestos Awareness.

Responsibilities

• Promote and implement a strong SHEQ culture aligned with a “Zero Harm” approach.
• Ensure full compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Carry out regular site audits, inspections, and safety tours.
• Complete SHEQ reporting (daily, weekly, monthly), including incidents and KPIs.
• Support ISO audits and maintain SHEQ systems and documentation.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety alerts, and briefings to site teams.
• Monitor and analyse SHEQ data to identify trends and improvements.
• Maintain systems such as ECO-online and document control platforms.
• Encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, and incidents.
• Support and guide site teams and SHEQ coordinators.
• Attend SHEQ meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
