Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd based in Washington, England is looking for a SHEQ Advisor to support critical infrastructure projects across utility and social sectors. The successful candidate will undertake risk assessments and ensure compliance with SHEQ practices in operational teams.

Overview

United Infrastructure is a dynamic and rapidly expanding business focused on delivering critical infrastructure projects across the utility and social infrastructure sectors. Our team delivers innovative solutions to the complex challenges our clients face. The company is split into two business areas: Utility Infrastructure and Social Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Your role as SHEQ Advisor will involve:

• Undertaking periodic risk assessments and implementing more robust procedures when necessary
• Providing specialist SHEQ advice to colleagues / subcontractors
• Ensuring contracts are compliant and that positive behaviours are embedded in the day to day works of our operational teams

Interpersonal, Supervisory or Management

• Good inter-personal skills with proven skills in coaching and motivating people
• Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all organisational levels (including Senior Managers)
• Ability to recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives and co-ordinate or ensure their implementation
• Ability to develop & deliver training/briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable but effective way
• Demonstrates determination to achieve business goals despite opposition and displays personal commitment

Technical or Specialist

• Experienced in auditing and root cause analysis techniques
• Ability to identify and assess patterns of resistance and effective problem-solving skills
• A good understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically in relation to Client, Principal Designer & Principal Contractor role

Qualifications

Essential (at appointment):

• NEBOSH Certificate and considerable relevant construction SHE water industry experience.
• Current full UK driving license
