Job summary

Actaris Site Services is seeking a Contract SHEQ Advisor to monitor Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality compliance across Yorkshire Water capital delivery and infrastructure projects. The role demands immediate availability and extensive site activity across clean and wastewater sites.

You will conduct audits, enforce safety standards, review RAMS and CPPs, and contribute to ISO 45001/14001/9001 processes while reporting progress to the SHEQ Manager and client.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate required.
• Experience as SHEQ Advisor in Water/Utilities/Construction; Yorkshire Water experience desirable.
• Knowledge of UK H&S legislation, CDM Regulations, and ISO management systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence and own transport; travel to multiple sites; CSCS card beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections & audits across clean/waste water sites, networks, treatment works.
• Enforce YW & Water UK safety standards: Confined Space, Excavation, NRSWA, LOTOTO, Working at Height, SHEA Water.
• Review and approve contractor RAMS, CPPs, Temporary Works; deliver TBTs and safety briefings; site inductions; investigate incidents/near misses.
• Ensure environmental compliance - pollution prevention, waste, discharge, carbon; maintain SHEQ data/KPIs; report to SHEQ Manager & YW client.
• Close out audit actions; support ISO 45001/14001/9001 audits and external assessments; CDM compliance checks.

Location: Yorkshire

Duration: 6-12 months initial

Rate: £42.10 per hour

Hours: Mon-Fri, 45 hrs - site hours

Role Summary

Contract SHEQ Advisor required to monitor Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality compliance, conduct audits, and enforce utility safety standards across Yorkshire Water capital delivery / metering / infrastructure framework. Immediate starter.

Key Duties

• Conduct daily site inspections & audits across clean/waste water sites, networks, treatment works
• Enforce YW & Water UK safety standards - Confined Space, Excavation, NRSWA, LOTOTO, Working at Height, SHEA Water
• Review and approve contractor RAMS, CPPs, Temporary Works, PermitsDeliver TBTs, safety briefings, site inductionsInvestigate incidents / near misses, produce reports with root cause & corrective actions (ICAM/5 Why)
• Ensure environmental compliance - pollution prevention, waste, discharge, carbonMaintain SHEQ data / KPIs, report to SHEQ Manager & YW client

Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate - Essential
• Tech IOSH or working towards Grad IOSHExperience as SHEQ Advisor in Water / Utilities / Construction - Yorkshire Water experience desirable
• Knowledge of UK H&S legislation, CDM Regulations, ISO management systems
• SHEA Water / EUSR - Highly desirableFull UK Driving Licence and own transport - travel to multiple sites
