Job summary

EMBS Engineering is recruiting a Sheet Metal Worker to join a partner company south of Birmingham. You will engage in sheet metal fabrication using techniques such as riveting, spot welding, bonding, and brazing to produce precision components.

The role involves reading detailed engineering drawings, working with thin-gauge aluminium, and maintaining tight tolerances. Late shift 16:30–2:30, permanent position with benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous Sheet Metal or fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to use hand and air tools effectively & safely.
• Previous experience of deburring, fettling, polishing, linishing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Working with various metals and performing Sheet Metal / Fabrication / Metal Working techniques (riveting, spot welding, bonding, brazing) to complete components.
• Carrying out a wide range of manufacturing methods (hand forming, grinding, stretching) for each part.
• Reading and working off complex engineering drawings and tolerances.

Your responsibilities include:

• Working with various metals and performing various Sheet Metal / Fabrication / Metal Working techniques, such as riveting, spot welding, bonding, and brazing, to complete the required components
• Carrying out a wide range of manufacturing methods, such as hand forming, grinding, and stretching, for the construction of each part
• Working to tight tolerances using thin-gauge materials such as aluminium
• Reading and working off complex engineering drawings

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

• Previous Sheet Metal or fabrication experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to use hand and air tools effectively & safely
• Previous experience of deburring, fettling, polishing, linishing, etc
