Job summary

Grimsby area: Sheet Metal Worker

HBG Recruitment are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join one of our clients who are well established within the food manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fabricate, cut, bend, and weld stainless steel and other food-grade metals to create parts and equipment used in food production.
  2. Install and maintain sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support the repair and modification of existing equipment and infrastructure.
  4. Operate various machinery, such as press brakes, shears, rollers, TIG/MIG welders, and plasma cutters.
  5. Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure integrity and cleanliness of fabricated components.
  6. Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues related to sheet metal installations.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, preferably in a food production or hygienic manufacturing environment.
  2. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  3. Skilled in TIG/MIG welding and working with stainless steel and aluminium.
  4. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation requirements in fabrication processes.
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship.
  7. Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in sheet metal work or fabrication.
