Job summary

Morson Group in Glasgow is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Workers for an ongoing, long-term role on major UK engineering projects. You will manufacture and install ventilation systems and furniture within a large-scale environment, reading engineering drawings and adhering to strict quality standards.

Ideal candidates are time-served with HVAC experience, able to work across days and nights, and capable of operating in confined spaces. Security clearance and BPSS may be required.

Qualifications

• Time-served Sheet Metal Worker status.
• Apprenticeship papers available for verification.
• HVAC manufacture and installation experience.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of SHE Risk Assessments, PUWER and COSHH.
• Experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering or marine environments.
• Marine or shipbuilding experience is advantageous.

Morson is recruiting experienced Sheet Metal Workers on behalf of a prestigious client in Govan and Scotstoun, Glasgow. If you're time-served, skilled in fabrication and HVAC work, overtime opportunities and long-term work, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay Rates

Days

• £20.80 per hour PAYE
• Plus £8.00 per hour non-local allowance*
• Holiday pay

Nights & Weekends

• £27.66 per hour PAYE
• Plus £8.00 per hour non-local allowance*
• Holiday pay

*Non-local allowance applies to candidates living 39+ miles from site.

Additional Umbrella and overtime rates available.

Location

Govan & Scotstoun, Glasgow

The Role

You'll be involved in the manufacture and installation of ventilation systems and furniture within a large-scale engineering environment.

• Using a variety of hand tools and fabrication techniques

What You'll Need

• Time-served Sheet Metal Worker status
• Apprenticeship papers available for verification
• HVAC manufacture and installation experience
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
• Knowledge of SHE Risk Assessments, PUWER and COSHH
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces
• Experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering or marine environments

Marine or shipbuilding experience is advantageous.

Trade Test

All successful applicants will complete a practical trade test, including:

• HVAC and furniture fault finding
• Square-to-round development
• Duct ventilation development drawing assessment
