Shift: 4x4 Day Shift

Preferred Experience: Structural analysis in airframe design/repair programs is highly preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in sheet metal and/or fabrication. Valid Driver's License required.

Position Purpose: The Sheet Metal Technician II works under general supervision to layout, fabricate, and install parts on aircraft following established procedures, ensuring compliance with specifications and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation safely, coordinating with supervision and inspection for compliance and quality.
2. Use blueprints to cut and form plastics, following procedures with adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
3. Shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprints or verbal instructions.
4. Operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting tools, shears, and hand tools.
5. Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use PPE; protect aircraft interiors.
6. Assist in monthly 5S audits and use material tracking systems for parts demand and work sign-offs.
7. Contribute to initiatives to meet OGSM requirements.

Additional Functions:

1. Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen events).
2. Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
3. Follow procedures when operating ground support equipment.
4. Properly dispose of waste fluids and materials.
5. Accurately record daily work charges.
6. Coordinate work activities across shifts and with leadership.
7. Assist in maintaining shop equipment and safety assessments.

Additional Requirements:

1. Knowledge of sheet-metal processes such as measuring, cutting, bending, and drilling aluminum.
2. Ability to read blueprints and engineering documents.
3. Valid driver’s license for operating towing and transportation equipment.
4. Proficiency in English; good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
5. Ability to work in restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, and work any shift.
