Operating from multiple UK locations, our key hubs are based in Esh Winning (Durham) and Great Heck (Selby).

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and experienced SHE & Compliance Manager to lead our safety, health, environmental, and compliance functions. This is a pivotal role ensuring our operations meet all legislative and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE):

• Develop and maintain SHE policies and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and accident/incident investigations
• Manage the Integrated Management System (IMS)
• Liaise with the DGSA and promote SHE awareness across the business
• Deliver Toolbox Talks and internal audits
• Oversee PPE stock and distribution
• Support SHE requirements for new business implementation

Compliance & Operator Licensing:

• Ensure compliance with Operator Licence regulations
• Conduct vehicle maintenance and driver defect audits
• Manage tachograph analysis and driver training
• Maintain FORS accreditation and lead compliance reporting
• Attend and contribute to operational meetings

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• NEBOSH or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of logistics compliance and safety standards
• Excellent IT and data analysis skills
• Confident decision-maker with strong leadership and communication abilities
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• CPC (/International – Road Haulage)
• DGSA certification
• FORS Practitioner Certificate
