Manpower is currently seeking an interim SHE Capabilities Specialist - Digital, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is fully remote with occasional travel as required to Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full-time temporary role to run until end October 2026, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £48,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Flexibility with working hours as could be required to work with different time zones.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be a member of the SHE capability expertise team Zero Harm to People, focusing on Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Contractor and Construction Safety, owning the delivery of Digital projects, owner of digital products and solutions in scope, and thus enhancing capability and fostering a strong SHE culture on sites and within and beyond the Unilever organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership:

  • Owner of select digital projects, solutions, and/or products within the expertise platform.
  • Serve as the overall subject matter expert for these solutions and products.
  • Track progress on delivery within the scope of the expertise platform.
  • Learn various digital systems used in SHE and Unilever, understand interactions, and manage system implementations and interactions.

Leadership:

  • Ensure timely delivery of solutions and products per the annual plan.
  • Coordinate training sessions and/or train users globally to ensure successful implementation; provide guidance and support.
  • Coordinate SMEs to ensure solutions/functions operate as needed.
  • Lead by example, promote safe behaviors, encourage a learning environment.
  • Support the development of the Digital Strategy and Architecture aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments for the expertise platform.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of digital tools through success measures, user feedback, and various evaluation methods.
  • Address functional issues, recommend improvements based on feedback.
  • Ensure solutions are user-friendly, fit for purpose, and up-to-date.
  • Assist in revising and enhancing functionalities.
  • Stay updated on new technologies to improve solution functionalities.

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate within the SHE capability team and with users to ensure solutions meet plans.
  • Foster relationships within SHE and other functions for smooth solution operation.
  • Work effectively with stakeholders outside SHE and external experts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, finance, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in SHE, engineering, IT.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in SHE management systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and with site personnel.
  • Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
