SHE Advisor

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Advisor to join our team in Middlesbrough.

As the site SHE Advisor you will be responsible for supporting the SHE Manager in implementing the site SHE management system.
This is a hands-on role where the main aim is to prevent work-related illnesses and injuries. The ability to engage and influence
at all levels of the organisation will be essential. As the site SHE Advisor you will also have responsibility to act as the site
competent person in the absence of the SHE manager.



Location: Middlesbrough

Shifts: Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5pm & Friday: 8:30am – 4pm

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum



Key duties:

* Support the reduction of SHE risks and hazards across the site
* Support the site to achieve legal compliance
* Deliver appropriate H&S training
* Undertake workplace inspections and audits
* Offer general health and safety advice
* Implement TCFG SHE management system
* Comply with reporting and escalation requirements
* Support the management of contractors and visitors (including PTW and contractor auditing)
* Implement group initiatives and campaigns
* Support the site SHE Manager in deploying TCFG strategy and systems
* Lead and undertake risk assessment and risk management
* Lead and undertake incident investigation and RCA
* Keep accurate records and good document control (inline with TCFG requirements)
* Investigate working environments for unsafe practices and conditions (implement appropriate improvements)
* Update compliance documents for SHE matters
* Report and take appropriate action against SHE violations
* Maintain and audit safety-critical procedures
* Perform governance as required by the SHE management system
* Maintain appropriate level of SHE competency
* Deputise in the absence of the SHE manager
* Liaise with enforcing authorities (or other interested parties) as appropriate
* Attend SHE community calls and forums as required
* Effectively contribute to wider SHE community across TCFG



Skills we are looking for:

* Level 3 Health and Safety qualification and Environmental qualification
* Good knowledge of specific work task (5 Years in similar role)
* Environmental experience and BS ISO 45001 (OHSMS)
