Job description

The Shared Services Finance Director based in Milton Keynes will lead and oversee all financial operations within the shared services function, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strategic alignment. This role is brand new and part of a project, where a SSC will be opened, heading up a team.

This is a permanent opportunity for a Shared Services Finance Director within a well-established large retail organisation.

Description

  • Continuously improve end-to-end finance processes, with a strong focus on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C), ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Deliver timely and reliable financial reporting to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery to internal and external stakeholders, proactively resolving issues and fostering strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams across finance, operations, and leadership to ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process optimisation and automation to reduce manual effort and enhance scalability.
  • Serve as a key liaison between finance operations and other departments, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Profile

A successful Shared Services Finance Director should have:

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in finance operations, with deep expertise across P2P, O2C, and R2R processes.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams and managing cross-functional operations at a regional or global level.
  • Strong foundation in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly advantageous.
