Hounslow Shared Lives is looking for caring, welcoming people to become Shared Lives Carers.
Shared Lives Hounslow offers a unique opportunity to support adults with a range of care and support needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities and other additional support needs. Approved carers share their home and everyday life with an adult who requires support, providing a family and community-based alternative to traditional care services. In doing so, Shared Lives Carers build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference, helping residents feel valued, connected and part of their community.
We are looking for people who can offer personalised support in a family and community-based setting, sharing aspects of everyday life and helping others achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
Being a Shared Lives Carer is a unique and rewarding way to make a difference and could be right for you if you:
Shared Lives Carers are self-employed and work in partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow. They receive payments for the support they provide, which vary according to the person's needs and the type of arrangement offered. For full-time (live-in) support, payments are typically between £400 and £500 per week, plus rent and weekly food and utilities contributions.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Suitable applicants will be contacted for an initial informal discussion to explore their interest and suitability for the Shared Lives programme, followed by a full assessment process to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.
Whether you're looking for a career change, a different work-life balance, or a meaningful way to support others, Shared Lives could be the opportunity you're looking for. If you have a passion for helping people thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
