Job description
Overview

This is for our Client, who is an industry-leading company with over 35 years of experience.

Salary Range

£40,000 - £46,000 per annum

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Break down scripts to identify required models and effects, including pyrotechnics, and discuss these with the Producer, Director, and Production Designer.
  • Provide estimates and ensure the work stays within the agreed budget.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to address requirements, with a focus on safety aspects.
  • Assist the Production Manager in assigning a skilled team of technicians.
  • Oversee and delegate the preparation, construction, and execution of models and effects.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to address safety requirements and collaborate on props or costume needs.
  • Ensure a qualified deputy is present on set when not available.
  • Discuss and plan effects shots with directors and cinematographers, considering camera angles, lenses, and post-production requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and COSHH regulations.
  • Maintain detailed work records and supervise the work of technicians.
Additional Duties for Pyrotechnics
  • Familiarity with regulations for packaging, transportation, and storage of pyrotechnics and explosives.
  • Knowledge of various pyrotechnic materials, squibs, and fire effects equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to pyrotechnics and fire effects on set.
  • Manage pyrotechnic and fire effects in the absence of a senior designer.
