Sexual Offence Examiner - Humberside - 24 hours

The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required.

We're looking for caring and compassionate RN's, Midwifes, RMN's or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
  • Developing forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
  • Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
  • Managing and promoting the self-referral pathway.
  • Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
  • Obtaining consent for health and forensic procedures.

Location: The Humberside SARC

Additional Locations include:

  • South Yorkshire SARC
  • West Yorkshire SARC
  • North Yorkshire SARC
Salary & Hours

Salary: £43,005.07 FTE, based on 40 hours per week. This role is for 24 hours per week.

Hours: Shifts between 9am-5pm, 5pm-1am, and 1am-9am. Rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year, including weekend and evening on-call shifts.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic
  • Applications are invited from females only due to the nature of the role, under the Sex Discrimination Act, Sections 7(2)b and 7(2)e
  • UK driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel across SARCs may be required
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting required
