Mountain Healthcare invites applications for a GMC-registered Doctor to join our Sexual Offence Examiner team across Paediatric and Adult services. The role supports victims through clinical placements, mentorship, and a structured education path with funding for exams to full Membership of FFLM in Sexual Offence Medicine.
The post requires travel to base locations, attendance on shift patterns including 9am-9pm blocks and 9am-5pm, and a pro rata salary of £80,504 to £90,056.21.
Qualifications
- GMC-registered Doctor with UK experience in sexual health, paediatrics, GP or obstetrics/gynecology.
- Minimum of 3 years plus Foundation experience and safeguarding knowledge.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional standards.
- Valid UK driving license and residency for DBS/vetting requirements.
- Medical indemnity by start date and willingness to travel to clinics.
Responsibilities
- Perform forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits.
- Develop forensic strategies in line with FFLM guidelines.
- Collaborate with external MDTs and Police for referrals.
- Be point of contact for Police and Social Services on referrals.
- Conduct holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, safeguarding.
- Support quality improvement and compliance with regulator requirements.
- Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures as per policy.

We are seeking a GMC-registered Doctor to join our team. This is an opportunity to support children, young people and adults who access Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC) helping each patient feel safe, listened to and in control of their care.
The role is for all ages covering both paediatric and adult services. There is a requirement for some travel as part of the role dependent on base location.
FTE salary: £ 80,504.16 - £90,056.21 (pro rata)
Contracted Hours: 24 Hours (part time hours will be considered)
Shift pattern:
- Monday - Sunday: 9am-9pm (acute shifts)
- Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

The role of Sexual Offence Examiner is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you will learn through clinical placements and blended learning, as well as receiving support with an allocated mentor. We will identify an individualised programme of education and exposure to clinical environments, providing opportunities for examinations, in addition to financial support whilst undertaking this post.
- Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
- Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
- Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
- Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
- Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
- Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
- Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
- Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures

- A minimum of 3 years + relevant post Foundation experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.
- Experience of working in Sexual health, Paediatrics, GP or Obs/Gynae.
- A UK driving license is required for this role and access to a vehicle.
- Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required. This requires residency for 3 years in the UK
- Medical Indemnity by start date is also a requirement.
- Diploma in Legal Medicine
- Member of the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine
- Previous experience working in a SARC setting or custodial environments
- Note that we cannot support International Visas.
- Police Vetting is a requirement of the post.
- 1:1 monthly supervision with allocated mentor, safeguarding supervisor or Line Manager
- Additionally taking part in research, audit, teaching and sitting FFLM exams will be encouraged.
