Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Friday, between 08:30 - 20:00

Responsibilities
  • Function as an autonomous practitioner within a multi-professional team to ensure provision of accessible, high standard, culturally sensitive and effective person-centred Sexual and Reproductive Health care across all Sandyford services.
  • Provide sexual health advising resources to support the management of public health functions within Sandyford Services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
  • As a registered nurse, deliver a range of skilled Sexual & Reproductive Health care and Sexual Health Advising interventions including: managing sexually transmitted infection and blood-borne virus results, appropriate treatment and referral, following up partner notification work, motivational interviewing and risk reduction.
  • Provide mentorship and support to pre- and post-registration medical and nursing students and staff new to the role.
