Job summary

NHS Fife is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join the Support Services Team at Queen Margaret Hospital to provide sewing and linen services across the site.

You will perform alterations, repairs, labeling and occasional upholstery work, with training provided. Experience with sewing equipment is preferred, and you should be organised and able to manage a varied workload.

Qualifications

• Has practical sewing skills and experience using sewing equipment.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to customer service.
• Organised and able to manage a varied workload.
• Previous experience in linen and a sewing environment would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Alteration and repair of staff uniforms.
• Adjustment and repair of curtains and privacy screens.
• Labelling and alteration of patient clothing.
• Occasional upholstery and soft furnishing repairs.
• Exchange, replenishment and distribution of linen trolleys within wards and departments.
