As an MDT co‑ordinator you will have an eye for detail, a strong team working ethic, and be passionate about providing excellent service for our patients. You will be responsible for co‑ordination of our Severe Intestinal Failure service and work in collaboration with the Intestinal Failure wider MDT team to successfully deliver a networked approach to the intestinal failure pathway.

Responsibilities
- Co‑ordinate, support and promote a system wide networked approach to the delivery of the Severe Intestinal Failure service.
- Work closely with the intestinal failure teams to coordinate the collection and recording of data, prepare for, record and disseminate outputs from the MDT meetings, and facilitate transfer of SIF patients to the unit.
- Provide secretarial support to members of the Gastroenterology clinical team and ensure smooth facilitation and co‑ordination of the SIF MDT meeting, including obtaining relevant clinical information, organising agendas, typing outcomes and disseminating to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop procedures to monitor patients’ progress through their pathway to ensure local and national standards are achieved.
- Monitor performance against agreed local and national indicators and work with the service lead to put in place plans to improve performance where required.
- Capture patient information on databases (local and national) and provide information from such databases for research and compliance purposes.
- Ensure effective organisation of all patients under the care of the consultant and his/her team in accordance with local and national policy and targets, collaborating with Booking Centre, Patient Access team, Outpatient Access team, General Managers, Theatre, Diagnostic and Ward teams to keep waiting lists up‑to‑date and clinic utilisation optimal.
- Maintain up‑to‑date, orderly and accessible clinical documentation to support clinical decisions and report exceptional circumstances where necessary.

- Resilient in meeting deadlines and targets, ability to work autonomously to achieve these.
- Demonstrated track record of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
