Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a civil contractor delivering water infrastructure projects in West Sussex.

You'll be setting out for pipelines, drainage and reinforced concrete structures, interpreting drawings, and producing QA documentation and as-built records. A CSCS Card and full UK driving licence are required, with GPS/Total Station experience highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Setting Out/Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
• Water or utilities sector experience is desirable.
• Proficient with GPS and Total Station for setting out.
• Experience producing QA documentation and as-built records.
• CSCS Card holder.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Setting Out Engineer - Water

Location: Steyning, West Sussex

Rate: Competitive, Dependent on experience

Duration: Long-term Contract

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a civil engineering contractor delivering water infrastructure projects for Southern Water in West Sussex.

This is a long-term opportunity working on a range of clean water and wastewater schemes, including pipelines, drainage, reinforced concrete structures and associated civils.

Responsibilities

• Setting out for pipelines, drainage, chambers and reinforced concrete structures
• Interpreting drawings and technical specifications
• Producing accurate as-built records and QA documentation
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works meet specification
• Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with daily site activities
• Monitoring subcontractors and reporting site progress
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety on site

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Setting Out/Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
• Water or utilities experience is highly desirable
• Strong setting out experience using GPS and Total Station equipment
• Experience producing QA documentation and as-built records
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
