Job summary

Van Elle, the UK’s largest geotechnical and ground engineering contractor, is looking for Setting Out Engineers to join our on-site teams across the North East. You will set out piles and beams, level, survey, liaise with engineers and construction teams, and help maintain quality and documentation.

The role requires proven setting-out experience, strong maths, AutoCAD experience, and a valid CSCS card. You’ll work 7.30am–6.00pm, with travel as needed, and enjoy a permanent role with pension and

Qualifications

• Experience in setting out on construction sites.
• Strong numerical and measurement skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set out piles and beams on site and record as-builts.
• Conduct setting out, leveling and surveying on site.
• Coordinate with engineers and construction team to ensure accuracy.
• Provide site technical support and quality control checks.
• Assist in supervising subcontractors and maintaining QA records.
• Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings.
