Job description

DCS Recruitment are looking for 2 Setting Out Engineers to work on a project based in Carrington, national civil engineering contractor.

Contract due April 2025

Expected duration of 3 Months

You must be either local or within travelling distance to site as no accommodation is provided.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control
2. Resolving and/or reporting technical problems/design issues
3. Coordinate & carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
4. Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan
5. Accurate maintenance of Quality records progressive with the works
6. Ensure survey equipment is calibrated, in date and in a serviceable condition
7. Ensure personal & site diaries are accurately maintained
8. Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures
9. Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship
10. Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties
11. Close liaison with the Site Foreman and Works Managers
12. Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used
13. Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations, current working practice, contract specification or project requirements
14. Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
2. Experience working for civil engineering contractors on projects involving roads, bridges and rail lines.
3. CSCS Card
4. Understanding of typical civil engineering methodologies
5. Familiar with use of Survey and setting out equipment
