Job Details

Organisation: Sandwell Children's Trust

Position: Sessional Worker - Youth Justice Service

Type: Fixed-term contract for 12 months

Hours: 16 hours per month, with options for additional hours

Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering intervention/reparation packages for young offenders
  • Support facilitation of group work
  • Escort young people around Sandwell
  • Participate in activities to meet project objectives
  • Supervise young people individually or in small groups during activities related to Court Orders or Out of Court Disposals
  • Record all work accurately and report to an YOT Officer
Qualifications & Skills

No formal qualifications required, but skills or experience in landscaping, carpentry, horticulture, arts and crafts, coaching, mentoring, etc., are essential.

  • Ability to motivate young people
  • Ability to work with other sessional workers
  • Ability to record information accurately
  • Experience working with challenging young people
  • Experience supervising young people in activities
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour
