Sessional Teacher – Teaching Assistants/Early Years L1, L2, L3

We are recruiting a TA/EYFS Sessional Teacher at Havering Adult College.

Salary: Up to £28.78 per hour, depending on qualifications and course level.

Locations: Havering Adult College, Bower Park Centre, Romford, and/or Brittons Centre, Rainham, Essex.

About The Job

The role involves teaching Level 1, 2, and 3 courses in Early Years/Teaching Assistant at our centres. Course schedules are flexible, including daytime and evening sessions.

You will prepare and deliver tailored lessons, assess student progress, and maintain records. Creativity in using teaching resources, including e-learning, is essential. A desire to develop innovative teaching methods is also important.

Applicants should understand Equality and Diversity and be familiar with Safeguarding regulations. Candidates are responsible for their own travel to centres.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive teaching experience in Vocational Teaching Assistant/Early Years qualifications
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Assessors’ certificate – TAQA 3 or equivalent
  • IQA certificate – TAQA 4 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Mentoring experience
  • A full UK driving license
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification or higher
  • GCSE Grade 9-5 in English and Maths or equivalent

Exceptional applicants without these qualifications but willing to obtain them may be considered.

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with diverse learner groups
  • Internal quality assurance experience
  • Knowledge of the local area and community
