Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES), the largest local authority adult education provider in England, is seeking inspiring and flexible sessional tutors to help deliver a ground-breaking £1 million Community Learning Growth Programme. This initiative is dedicated to supporting economically inactive adults across Birmingham into employment, further learning, volunteering, and civic participation—through hyper-local, high-impact learning experiences.

About the role:
Sessional Tutors will be central to the delivery of six bold intervention strands that tackle systemic barriers to learning and employment through creative and community-rooted learning models. You will work under the direction of Programme Managers and contribute to one or more of the following strands:

Plan and deliver high-quality, learner-centred teaching and assessment in your subject area.
Integrate core Essential Skills (the 7 Cs: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, community awareness, computer literacy, and self-management).
Contribute to inclusive learning environments that prioritise confidence, wellbeing, and progression.
Collaborate with community navigators, peer mentors, and grassroots organisations to boost learner engagement.
Adapt delivery to meet the diverse needs of under-served, economically inactive learners.
