An exciting opportunity with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for a Social Worker to join the Emergency Duty Team. This casual role involves providing out-of-hours support across the Tees Valley area. Ideal candidates will have a professional qualification in Social Work and substantial experience, demonstrating effective communication and risk management skills. Shifts will vary, including evenings and weekends, to meet service demands.

The role of the post is to supplement the Emergency Duty Team rota particularly at high demand times to provide a comprehensive out of hours Social Work service to the residents of the Tees Valley area including Darlington.
This is a casual role and hours of work will be determined by the requirements of the Service, you will be offered a number of shifts across the year. There is an expectation that the different shifts will be shared equally across the bank of sessional workers. The shifts will include weekday evenings Monday to Thursday, Friday evenings, weekend day and evening shifts (Saturday and Sunday), and all Bank Holidays.
You must have a relevant professional qualification in Social Work, be registered with SW England and demonstrate substantial experience. You will bring with you a proven track record of success, be able to effectively communicate in a multi-agency environment and have the ability to risk manage complex situations. A working knowledge of an out of hour’s service would be preferable.
In addition, you will need drive and enthusiasm to work in this strategically important service at a time of increasing demands, challenges, and service developments.
