Job summary

Change Grow Live Ealing RISe is seeking a Recovery Worker on a sessional basis to support adults with substance use needs in the community and in diverse settings. You will manage a caseload, deliver group-based content, and work across GP surgeries, mental health services and housing projects.

The role requires experience in substance misuse, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with partners.

Qualifications

• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills.
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills.
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.

Recovery Intervention Service Ealing (RISE) is an integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Ealing residents 18 years and over to their families and significant others who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol use. RISE is a consortium, with CGL being the lead contractor, and includes Central and North West London NHS Mental Health Trust (CNWL) and two service user led organizations and Build on Belief (BOB).

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Change Grow Live Ealing RISE for an enthusiastic, dedicated and outcome focused Recovery Worker to join our successful team on a Sessional basis.

We’re looking for a committed professional to support individuals with substance use needs. Many of our clients face additional challenges such as neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, unstable housing, poor health, safeguarding concerns, and limited support networks.

You’ll manage a dedicated caseload and work flexibly across the community, offering assertive outreach and in-reach support in diverse settings — from GP surgeries and mental health services to substance misuse hubs and supported accommodation.

This is a flexible, hands-on role suited to someone resilient, empathetic, and motivated to drive change where it matters.

Hours: Ad Hoc / 0

Location: Ealing

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For sesional contracts, the hourly rate will be pro rata based on hours worked.

Responsibilities

About the role:

About you:
