Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking a number of sessional Progress Tutors to support 16–18 learners in the Sport department, with opportunities to work across other areas of the college. You will manage and coach a caseload, delivering high-quality tutorial support to help students succeed and progress to their next steps.

The role offers a route into teaching, with the college supporting you to acquire a teaching qualification.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a number of sessional Progress Tutors across Sport department with the opportunity to work across other areas of the college to support our 16–18-year-old learners to achieve their full potential and progress to their next steps.

Loughborough College Group’s Sport is a highly successful team with over 850 full time learners offering a wide range of provision from Level 1 up to Level 3.

The successful candidate(s) will manage and coach a case load of learners in partnership with curriculum, other progress tutors and staff, to ensure that learners become independent learners who progress successfully. They will deliver inspiring tutorial support to ensure all students are supported to succeed through the delivery of high quality and challenging learning experiences.

The successful candidate will also help provide cover within the team making this a perfect route for those candidates wanting to start a career in teaching. The college can support you in acquiring a teaching qualification and you will gain the knowledge and experience of teaching through the role.

A relevant degree and vocational experience in an educational setting are essential for this role.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and work effectively in a large cross-curricular team. You will possess excellent planning and administration skills and be able to work to deadlines.
