Sessional Play Workers needed for ASN Summer Club
Inverclyde Council is seeking support staff experienced with children with additional support needs (ASN) for its summer club.
The council aims to expand support for ASN children during the summer holidays and needs to hire additional staff.
Councillor Jim Clocherty, convener of education and communities, stated: “We know parents have been requesting more ASN spaces, but we need sufficient staff to provide these.”
“This support significantly benefits parents and children during the summer. If you or someone you know is interested in extra summer work, please get in touch.”
The summer club is expected to run for four weeks from Monday 30 June to Friday 25 July 2025. If you cannot work all four weeks, we still encourage you to apply. The location is Craigmarloch School, Port Glasgow, with working hours from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Flexible and part-time hours are available.
Please refer to the job description for detailed duties.
The minimum qualification required is SVQ LEVEL 2 in Playwork; SCQF LEVEL 5 or higher in Childcare is also acceptable. Candidates must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as Support Workers.
Previous experience working with children with ASN in out-of-school, school, or early years settings is essential. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required. Knowledge of health and safety regulations is advantageous.
Click the “Apply” button to submit your application. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, so early submission is encouraged. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for 12 or 13 May 2025.
