South Thames College is looking for a qualified Lecturer to teach on the Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment in Construction Industries. One evening per week (6pm – 9:15pm)
The Employability School at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Lecturer to teach and prepare adult learners for the Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment in the Construction Industries (Ascentis). The role involves delivering several courses planned throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate will develop course objectives using effective lesson plans designed to monitor learners’ progress. You’ll prepare course plans in accordance with external or College-set syllabuses and deliver the agreed learning outcomes by the end of the course.
Applicants should have experience working in Construction (in more than one trade). We prefer our lecturer to hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), have a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners, and recent teaching experience in Construction within an FE College.
You should demonstrate outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment skills, with experience in setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress against targets. Interdisciplinary skills and working experience are desirable. You’ll need an advanced level of computer literacy and general office software skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.
