Job summary

East Sussex College is seeking enthusiastic individuals to teach part-time adult leisure courses across campuses. We welcome tutors, industry professionals, hobbyists or anyone with expertise to share.

Sessions run for 5–6 weeks, typically 2–3 hours per week, during the day or evening. In return, we offer a competitive FE salary, generous annual leave and pension, access to funded teaching qualifications, apprenticeships and various training opportunities to support career development.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge, skills or experience in a particular subject, hobby, craft or activity.

Overview

Do you want to inspire adult learners and turn your knowledge into a rewarding teaching opportunity?

East Sussex College is looking to expand its range of adult leisure learning courses. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with experience, skills and passion in a wide variety of subjects who would like to teach part-time courses to adult learners. Whether you're an experienced tutor, industry professional, skilled hobbyist, freelancer, craftsperson, or simply someone with expertise that others would benefit from learning, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging leisure learning sessions for adult students.

Important dates
  • Closing date: 19th August 2026
  • Interview Date: 27th August 2026

Location: Based at our Eastbourne or Lewes Campus.

Annual salary: Circa £22 per hour including Holiday rate. (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours and benefits

Hours: Sessional – Typically 2-3 hours per week, for a 5-6 week stint.
