Job description

Sessional Family Support Worker - Cheshire GM and Surrounding Areas

Child Action Northwest (CANW) is an award winning charity providing a range of innovative and creative services across England that support children, families and vulnerable adults. Our values of caring, empowerment, and never giving up are present in all we do and underpin our work. We believe in the power of the individual and communities to grow, develop and change.

Pro Contact, a service within CANW, enables and promotes safe and beneficial contact between separated families. We aim to reduce parental conflict and improve co-parenting relationships by facilitating conflict resolution between adults. We are a Cafcass commissioned service that offers a court ordered, short term intervention with families for 6-8 weeks at a time.

We are looking for Sessional Family Support Workers to join our team at CANW undertaking family contact observations remotely or out in the community. We offer a full induction and paid training programme and will provide equipment. We pay travel time and mileage for all your work. The role offers flexibility; however, as the children are often school aged, we require staff to work after school/weekends as mutually agreed.

We are looking for people who:

  1. Have a passion for helping families improve their life chances, keeping children safe and supporting changes which can result in the best possible outcomes.
  2. Have a background working with families and children, an NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  3. Have the skills to work with those reluctant to engage.
  4. Have experience in producing written reports.

The rate for this role is £15.26 per hour (inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay). For more information, please contact recruitment@canw.org.uk.

This vacancy will close on receipt of sufficient applications.
