Support Workers in the London area needed to join our Independent Living team.
Permanent part-time (30 hours per week). Salary – £28,860.00 (full-time equivalent)
Casual (sessional) hours for those who like to work flexibly. £14.80 per hour
If you would like to join TeamRAD – delivering invaluable one-to‑one and group support to deaf people, in their first language, usually British Sign Language (BSL) or via specialist communication systems like Makaton, Our Independent Living team provides person‑centred support so that deaf and deafblind people (including those who have additional support needs, e.g., a learning disability or mental health challenge) can develop the skills needed to live independently.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone can live a safe, fulfilled and happy life. If you have a positive attitude, a flexible approach and would like to join our team –
We pay the Real Living Wage, provide excellent training and development, prioritise colleague wellbeing and are keen to attract people who can work independently, but who also enjoy being part of a team that can support each other to achieve great outcomes for the people who we support.
Permanent roles attract life assurance benefit, generous pension and 30 days annual leave (FTE).
The sessional opportunity is flexible work and colleagues can choose support sessions from those offered. Many sessional colleagues develop their skills and gain valuable experience before eventually becoming permanent (when vacancies arise). Sessional colleagues are not permanent employees. There is no guarantee of work and days/hours can vary depending on the needs of the charity.
British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 is essential for this role, Level 2 is desirable. Where required we will offer this training as part of the role.
